IF YOU HAVE A CONVERSATION ABOUT CHRISTIAN FAITH FORMATION ANYWHERE IN THE U.S. TODAY, YOU WILL DEFINITELY HEAR A STORY ABOUT COMPLEXITY.
That’s exactly what our team heard when we commissioned both quantitative and qualitative research with those who know this subject best—those who are living the experience.
This research project included hundreds of parents, leaders, and kids across North America. Our objective was to help leaders and parents first to understand the current situation, to identify what is most important, and finally to see where they need to focus their efforts moving forward.
Based on the research, there is a great desire among parents for their efforts in spiritual formation to result in their children becoming “good people.”
Parents, like children’s leaders, want their children to love God and study and learn the Bible, but they also see a great need for Christians who help to make the world a better place by being what they see as “good people.”
So, what many parents and ministry leaders want to know is how do we actually raise good people? And how do we equip and empower parents?
To answer those questions . . .
Cokesbury Kids is beginning the Raising Good People series, in which Brittany Sky, Senior Editor for Cokesbury Kids, writes new content every month, exclusively for Cokesbury Kids Club members, teaching us what it means to raise our kids to be Christ-like, good people!
